Fair enough. I suppose that means that in culinary terms it wasn't your mother's pride?

Re: Bread sauce?
I've had it. I wouldn't part with bread for it.

Re: Bread sauce?
I think most people have conSEEDED that the bread sauce is rank and we wouldn't spend our DOUGH on it. Not on dime or pumperNICKEL

Re: Bread sauce?
I've never had bread sauce and I most certainly will not be trying it because it sounds disgusting.

My first post was just to annoy Coffee.

Re: Bread sauce?
I've only ever had home made bread sauce, I tried to like it but just can't. Old fashioned sludge sullying a perfectly good meal.

It didn't take long for this thread to go a rye.

Re: Bread sauce?
Vexed old fella, sounds like your exposure to bread sauce is limited to the likes of Iceland own brand. A well-made bread sauce is far from tasteless.

Has there ever been a subject on WHO that creates as many endless puns as that of bread?

Seems everyone wants a slice of it.

It's LITERALLY like rain on your wedding day.

If that rain also contained parsley.

It brings together the WHOLEMEAL.

Re: Bread sauce?
No. It's the sort of mush that old folks like when food in this country wasn't very adventurous. Tasteless mushy filth like pie and mash. It'll die out when you lot do.

Re: Bread sauce?
Bread sauce is a winner, but nobody else in the family likes it so I'll probably go without. Reminds me a bit of the gravy you get with biscuits in the states.

As my son always says when there isn't any......"A roast chicken or turkey dinner can not be given 10/10 without bread sauce".

Love it!!

Re: Bread sauce?
I don't knead it.

WHU(Exeter) 12:38 Wed Dec 15
Re: Bread sauce?
Don't get the knead for it.

(genuinely don't get the need for it, with all these sauces and combination of spices, I find it hard to imagine somebody originally inventing this particular sauce and thinking 'mmm...that tastes really nice')
